State of the Epigram – Autumn ’25

So it’s been five months since the last State of the Epigram but I figured that it was a good time to give you a little insight into where Epigram Games is, where it’s going and what you can expect going into 2026.

Hypersteel Meatgrinder

Development of Hypersteel Meatgrinder is largely complete. There’s still a few bits of writing to do here and there (mostly a final pass on scenarios and finishing the example lists) but layout has begun and it’s still on track for Christmas ’25 for physical and digital releases. It has been slower than I would have liked, but unfortunately as the sole person running Epigram at the moment, I have to prioritise work appropriately.

However, please enjoy this provisional cover by Juan Ochoa, who absolutely knocked it out of the park:

The book will be available in hardback to match the original, and in PDF. For new players, a bundle package will be available, and I’m investigating the possibility of slip cases…

New Miniatures

In the last update I promised new miniatures and I’m very sorry that that hasn’t materialised. Unfortunately, as I alluded to in the previous update, my dayjob has been very demanding in the last few months and that’s meant prioritising Hypersteel Meatgrinder over new miniatures.

Additionally, I feel like I need to offer the best quality I can, and that means taking the time to improve my design and casting processes. I still have plans for releasing the Compact starter and other minaitures, but I will ask you to be patient there.

What’s Next

Whilst there’s never a good time for anything, the last year has been difficult. Between GSPR, US tariffs and more, its never been more difficult to run a small ecommerce business and so I greatly appreciate all of your support.

But that does mean I’m going to be keeping future plans a little closer to my chest, because I can’t guarantee what’s coming around the corner next. As always, I am a little freer with my thoughts on the discord, so feel free to join and discuss there.

Epigram Awards

As a coda, I promised last time to do Epigram Awards on a quarterly basis. On reflection, this was a silly idea, and instead I’m hoping to do them annually. Watch this space.
